According to James 1:8, “A double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.”
The LORD spoke the word Duplicitous to me, as I sat and reflected on several conversations I’ve had here recently and in the past with others.
The LORD always wants us clear on what we’re hearing and feeling in terms of discernment, in relation to others; and I found that what I discerned, or rather in layman’s terms what I sensed was indeed the case.
So, let me give you all some background. The origin of the word “Duplicitous” is duplicity, which means "doubleness." Therefore, someone who is duplicitous is almost like two people, saying one thing but then doing something very different, even contradictory. Someone who is duplicitous can also be called "two-faced," which is a vivid way to remember that said person(s) shouldn't be trusted or taken at face value.
This was important to know because of the hour that we are in. There are a lot of people operating in this manner, in this very day, in this very hour; and it is going to take a level of wisdom and discernment (1 Corinthians 12:7-12), in order to fully know who is before you.
For unstable persons can be dangerous, and can prove to be damning to your reputation, livelihood, and life withal, if you let them get too close to you.
It is the case that no matter how trustworthy someone appears, nor how much history you have with someone, or how much of a connection you presumably feel, if you perceive one to be a Duplicitous person of sorts, separate yourself from them and do it fast. For they have been planted in your life to either sow discord, and or cause confusion through an air of lies, deceptions, and manipulations.
In keeping, in the book of 2 Timothy the 3rd chapter, a clear picture is painted that goes in depth, where Duplicity and it’s character traits are concerned; and in that same passage at verse 5, it simply instructs one on what to do when we encounter such persons, and it reads, “From such turn away.”
Yes you heard right, “TURN AWAY”. Although you may be one, like myself in the past, who has a hard time disconnecting from others; in the long run it will prove beneficial; and you will in turn begin to understand why it was, or rather is necessary to break said connection(s). As we are mindful that when breaking said connections, it’s never personal but rather it’s about PURPOSE and for our protection!
